As someone who grew up in NYC and moved to Florida, no one anywhere on Earth should envy NYC. The place does have its good points (great entertainment, great food, reliable public transportation), but the bad far outweigh it.

I got out before DeBlasio, but I remember the beginnings of the "nanny state" under Bloomberg and how much I hated it. The people can be assholes but since I never socialized, I didn't mind that aspect of it. Mostly it was the trash on the sidewalk and the homeless that pissed me off. Also you can't go anywhere without some protest about something trivial going on. I'm speaking as someone who should have been desensitized to all this, but I never was.

I was glad to leave that sewer, and I know I will never return--even for a visit. I don't care if I sound like a sociopath with what I'm about to say (and I'm not exaggerating for the sub), but every time I hear on the news about some calamity striking NYC, my day feels just a little bit better.

Ive always kind of shat on LA, was always a Woody Allen/NY is better type, always regretted not living there. I went there in December and left after one day. It was absolutely miserable. Everyone was a fuckin asshole. It was freezing. I hate the subways. I hate 10 million crammed into a 3 mile radius.

For the first time in 12 years of being in LA, I couldn't wait to leave NY and get back here. Im totally over NYC, fuck that place, I don't care if I never go back again. It's become like Las Vegas to me; I'll go if something unavoidable is happening there, otherwise...no.

First of all I'd like to apologise for coming off so aggressive. I have always been of the opinion that the o and a show is the best because of the whole crew and unfortunately that includes the opester. I'm not denying that the show was getting worse but that I'd still rather listen to it than any podcast or radio thing right now

Also I don't think just opie anthony and Jimmy will ever work again. They would need to have at least 2 other guys with them to make up most of the time while opie broods anthony makes awkward quips and Jimmy acts completely comfortable with the awareness of rainman.

I don’t really know what Opie provided but it was something. Ants show sucks every since he got fired. The shows without opie weren’t as good as when he was there. Yea they were on the decline for several years but it’s still better than anything left. It’s over now, it would be embarrassing if they tried to restart the O&A show at this point. I’m sure someone could replace Opie but it isn’t Artie. I just think it helped having someone that’s pretty much a polar opposite of Ant to really make him funny. Plus the format was just better with multiple guests in at a time and I just kind of prefer radio vs video. When Jim started that shit it kind of ruined the show a bit for me. I don’t really get how so many people are in to it, especially enough to watch him do a whole podcast as chip.
