John Oliver aside, "virtue signaling" is such a shallow insult. I could say your virtue signaling right now. It's also gavin mcinnes favorite buzz word
One fucking summer jon lebowitz(Stewart) had to make a shitty movie from what I heard and this guy is suddenly a proven host. Fuck those faggots at hbo
at least we got some good anthony weiner jokes out of it. Jon literally let him off the hook last time, denying it was him the entire way through and mocking some like conservative in a small town in alberta instead
WELL, WELL, WELL, WHAT DO WE GOT HERE!?!? LOOKS LOIK A CUNSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN MIN SAYING SOMEFING STEWPID! WOT AN ABSILEWT BELLEND INNIT!?!? MAYBE IF HE WAS A GAY MUSLIM OF CULLAH, HED GIT AN ABORTION. DAFT CUNT.
I used to like him when he did a podcast called the bugle. Way before he was famous. Yeah he's a liberal but I thought he was funny when he did his own material.
Now he's just a parrot for his stupid 20-something year old writers to drop dumbass pop culture references to Beyonce or the latest internet meme or whatever the fuck. A 45 year old British guy wouldn't be making references like that, which is why I guess it's supposed to be "funny," but to me it's just so fucking irritating and unwatchable.
Does anyone find it a bit strange that this guy, samantha bee, trevor noah and stephen colbert were all interns and then worked for Jon stewart at the exact same time? Like what the fuck, that's 80% of late night host practically.
Not as hosts. There are a couple of American comedians (Rich Hall, Reginald D Hunter) who live in the UK and are part of the revolving cycle of establishment-approved comedians who appear on panel shows like Have I Got News for You etc. They do what they're supposed to do, mock and sneer at anything conservative (small c) and/or traditional but, so far, no smug American hosts.
p.s. Sorry about John Oliver, James Corden etc. They're cunts but please, please keep them over there.
yea some of them are good though (the ugly brits). shows like mock the week were funny and they had anyone who was funny no matter what an ugly fuck they were. In the states it's just the most attractive and boring people
The first season of his show was actually great. Some good stuff about big pharma sticks out in my mind...just going really in depth about some important shit. Either he was "gotten to" before that second season, or the plan the whole time was to establish credibility and lead people off the cliff. Fuck him under his fingernails with knives.

Don't worry about it, the ship is sinking, the enterprise is over.

Nick Mullen nailed why this show sucks. Watch one episode no matter which one. All the jokes have the same structure.
Play clip
Host compares it hyperbolically to some silly or obscure thing
Host looks at camera quizzically
Repeat

Lemme cover my mouth to hide my genetically inferior disgusting limey teeth from years of tea drinking and eating the feces of the ruling class

Serious question, are there TV shows in England where a smug American mouths off about British politics? Or is this unique to American television?
