If you're concerned, it's always a good idea to "obscure" their username somehow (a mosaic filter for example) when posting their involvement in the conversation.

The DMCAs are reported directly to the admins and forwarded to their legal team. Even though Joe has filed several illegal DMCAs, they don't appear to care enough about wasting time on him or subs who were only a month or two old to bother responding with anything other than suspending a couple users and banning subs. If your account is still active, you probably haven't blatantly, repeatedly broken sitewide rules and aren't, for now, considered a legal risk to be concerned about on Reddit.
Other subs related to O&A who were banned were filled with harassment of that nobody sci-fi author and harassment of other Reddit members completely unrelated to the subs, which included "Reddit powermods".
