My granddad died from Alzheimer’s, my parents forced us to visit him at least twice a year in the last 10 years of his life. Even towards the end when he was having difficulty even being conscious I could tell that he knew we were there, just by the sound of our voice. A small smile would appear on his face. I’m happy knowing the old man died around people that loved him, after spending a good 80 years of his life working his fucking ass off every day for his family.

But you know, I should’ve avoided all that because it made me feel bad sometimes
