Yeah, no shit. He got out when he was old and tired of standing around on sets all day, but before a crippling Tim Curry stroke lashed him to a wheelchair or a hospice bed. Now he spends his days lounging with all his money to keep him comfortable. Nothing is out of his grasp. There's nothing he wants that he doesn't get. And when he dies, he knows he will be passionately grieved over and then lovingly remembered as one of the greatest to ever ply his craft in his business. What a fucking king.
Check out the devils (1971) the bfi version. Hard to find, but probably the greatest hidden gem there is. Watch "The Devils (1971) - Trailer" on YouTube

There's an amazing book called "Vendetta," about Bobby Kennedy vs Jimmy Hoffa. I didn't know til I read that that Harry Caul is based on a real life guy who was the highest profile electronic surveillance guy in the country. He was decades ahead of anyone else, he was like a genius at this shit. The coolest part was, the cops and the crooks both used him because he was so good. He'd get done wiring up a place for the Teamsters, and then immediately go do a job for the cops, so they could all spy on each other. He was a slippery fuck.

The man. Just quietly stuck his middle finger up to Hollywood and disappeared into a much deserved retirement

Unforgiven, French Connection. Come to think of it even the shitty movies he's in he does a great job in.

One of my favorite scenes in a movie is when Ol Gene shouts “misfire” when Eastwood’s shotgun doesn’t go off in Unforgiven.

Sweet little bit part for a young Harrison Ford to boot. If you haven't seen it yet then get it right now you won't regret it.

One of the best endings to a movie as well. This and The King of Comedy are probably my favorite movies of all time.

Even for story-starved local news, that is one of the craziest segments I’ve ever seen.
