There's an audience for that, but it certainly isn't us or anyone that was an O&A fan. He should be on some kind of Morning Mash Up type of thing. As bad as Sam is, Jim is the problem with the show. He brings nothing interesting, funny or even relevant to the table.

The disappointment is also a big factor. Obviously no one expects Sam to be good, but it's sad to realize how blasé Norton has become when you remember how funny he could be during the prime O&A years.

Sam's night show was good. Not because Sam was funny in any way, but because he ran and controlled the flow of the show. It's also why early J&S was decent. Sam ran the board and calls. You can't have a show controlled by someone who is barely paying attention to begin with.

Precisely the issue. Sam controlled the board and controlled the flow. Jimmy is so friggin obsessed with his phone that he constantly interrupts the flow of he show to read texts etc. Hell, today he stopped the show cold because he had to send Andrew Dice Clay a text.

As much I hate Sam - the show actually sounds better the days that Jimmy is not there.

Gonna have to admit that The Special Delivery show with East Side Dave, that they did for a couple years on the saturday show was pretty funny.

ESD isn't always a hit for me, but he commits 100% to bits, throws out a ton of material and used to be a genuine

It was caller and staff drama driven. Not everyone's favorite. The Ben from Maryland call is my favorite call ever. And the aging gay male prostitute. It also gave rise to Adrian and Hot Dog.

It wasn't groundbreaking, but it was leaps and bounds better than J&S.

Except he sucks at taking callers and he stinks at messing with staff. He listened to Ron Bennington everyday for years, and thinks he can do the same as Ron. He can't, he is bad at radio. Stop it

The one time I happened to catch Sam’s night show, he had Virgil/Vincent on and he basically just let the callers shit on him for being dumb and a failure and not self-aware enough to realize it. It was pretty great.

Sam is performing at close to 100% of his capacity. He's never been a funny person and has always been kind of annoying. But I don't think he's terrible at playing the straight man when someone funny is sitting across from him. It sort of seems that way now, but that's only because he can't get a single thing out of Jim that doesn't suck ass.

Listen to Special Delivery. It wasn't the greatest show in the world, but it was infinitely better than Jim and Sam. Dave isn't even that funny without Ron forcing it out of him. Sam hasn't changed at all, except that he has more pull to get WWE guests now (which does suck). Even if Sam was completely sabotaging the show, the fact is that the guy who was supposed to be funny isn't just underperforming, he hasn't said a funny thing since the show's inception.

I'm glad someone else sees it the exact same way. Norton is steering the ship now and he's not even paying attention most of the time.

Sam needs to be back in control of the board. I never understood why Jim got put in charge of it when Sam is the one who went to school for it. I think being slid to 2nd chair status is a bone of contention with Sam. So Sam needs to go back to 1st chair and running the board and they also need Anthony or an Anthony type of character to balance things out. I don't listen to radio much anymore so I don't know who's out there but Sirius needs to be looking for that 2nd chair co-host for Sam and slide Jim back to his 3rd chair spot or even slide him off the show entirely and bring in a new comic foil. Essentially re-build the O&A show with new people.

I think you hit the nail on the head with that one. The callers is probably a big reason that Jim wanted control of the board. Jim can't stand criticism or being called out, despite his attacking other people for being the same way, so he had to get control over what the callers could say over the air. Sam is an annoying prick for the most part but he's also a huge shit stirrer and Jim knows if he was in charge of the phones he'd let people call up and shit on Jim mercilessly.

Imagine if Sam had had control of the board during the 'Jim is in love with a tranny cam whore from Norway that he'd never met at that point and paid to speak to privately in one on one cam sessions'. I'm on a Nopie show marathon right now and despite all the horrible revelations of their personalities during the last few years, outright pedophilic savagery and unironic gay manlove with mentally ill psychopaths, Ant and Jimmy together are fucking hilarious and have amazing radio chemistry together.

This is my 4th or 5th run through these Nopie shows, and regardless I have a faint memory of each show, they are undeniably entertaining to listen to.

No surprise, no problem. And the guy might as well be Clooney, compared to Norton. Still, people acknowledge the financial angle and her probable daddy issues.

Sam is way better by himself. The shows are always great when Jim is out. The lack of enthusiasm from Jim really kills any creativity or potential from the show. The one time Jim did the show without Sam was among the most uncomfortable radio I have heard.
