I'm too lazy to look it up, but IIRC, Chris Cornell lived on an island in the Puget Sound named "Vashon Island." It's a BEAUTIFUL place, I've been there a bunch of times, but there's absolutely NOTHING to do there. It's so remote, there isn't even a 7-11 or a McDonalds, there is NADA.
So just imagine his poor kids, stuck on an island with piles of money and shit to do. It's basically a recipe for becoming a drug addict. (Seattle is so close, you can see it from the island, but you have to take a boat to get there, there's no bridge to Vashon Island.)
I googled "Chris Cornell House" and only found a place in Beverly Hills. But I distinctly remember reading an interview where he said that he lived on Vashon. Basically it enabled him to be close to Seattle, but not have to deal with living IN seattle. Which is great for a millionaire rock star who's shy, but kinda sucks for the rest of his family.
