There is a tranny power mod that put in for ownership scorch and laid out pretty clear how its a refuge for a sub they hate. Takedown notices probably didnt help the other side, but tranny was gunning for both to be shut down.

Trying to hide the sub via naming or making it private does nothing. If the main O&A posters of the old sub are the main posters of the new sub it will just get banned.

we all know joe, patrick, etc all visit the oanda subs multiple times a day.

Joe/Patrick ratting the sub out isn't what is getting the new ones shut down.

Reddit has this down to a science- they've dealt with this with every big sub they've banned. They know what the top posters were on the banned subs (and, if necessary, the IPs those were logging in from). It would be trivial for their analytics guys to write some database code and immediately identify where those posters migrated to. It doesn't matter if the sub is private or what it is named- just following the posters will identify it.

And it looks like they either are doing sweeps once a week or they are deliberately waiting until subs get critical mass before closing them down.
