Someone suggested it to me in a PM. The rationale is everyone who would have found this place as a beacon station is already here, and therefore this place must be protected from the elements. The other sub can become the new main sub, and if that one goes away for some reason everyone is already at this protected Beacon station (as long as they stay subbed)

No. Privatizing this sub would be fucking pointless and counterproductive. It's only been a few days since the old sub got taken down and people are still clearly trickling in. It's bad enough that the xyz sub got set to private, doing it to this place would completely lock out anyone who hasn't checked the site out in like two days. Just do the fucking job you chose to do and delete copyrighted shit and the like and this place won' 't have a problem.

It’s not a one-man job and Pat is going to be aggressively trying to shut it down, which reddit admins will be all too happy to oblige. Maybe bring in Braunheiser and maybe /u/BeigeFrequency, they seem like good eggs.
This sub needs to be very specifically utilized for making fun of explicitly public figures— O&A universe freaks, the Henry Rollins bit, etc are fine. People like Pat and Liz are going to get us banned. Recommend a hardline against that content while directing users who want to troll them to the Voat page or Joecumia forum or whatever else ends up working best. Maybe once in a while someone can post an update thread on what they’ve been up to, but we can’t have Pat shit running through /r/new 24/7 or this shit is getting shutdown fast.
