Not much. Even established, world renowned authors are kept in financial check by their publishers.
Patrick likely received a 10K advance for his first book with Tor and would not start earning a percentage of sales until the advanced was recouped (which, c'mon, we know it wasn't)
Almost every author out there that is actually well-known says that there isn't much money in it unless you hit it big, which Patrick never has and isn't likely to. I would estimate maybe $10k a book based on what I've read on the subject (and that's being incredibly generous) as well as some knowledge I've gained from author friends, but it is very dependent on his agent and what sort of deal he has. The six figure annual profit he claims is certainly a lie, but as we've seen he tends to lie a lot to try and make himself appear grander than he is. Whatever the case, given his poor sales and slow rate of production it is very hard to believe he can support himself from his writing alone, he must either mooch off his wife or is still selling insurance over the phone.
He does outreach, but we are almost always there to take away from the benefits of it. He attacked all negative reviews of his book, as if there was no possible way anyone could have read it and not enjoyed it. We also kept the stars on the review low when it was a new release. I can’t imagine it sold more than 1000 copies. I might be wrong, trash sci-fi and romance books have been widely available my whole life, even if I don’t know anyone reading them, some is.
