I didn't know about this metalgbt thing, but I'm guessing it was an abandoned sub that people tried to "take over" because it didn't have a mod. They consider this "brigading" same as if you downvote a Pat post on fantasy or politics.

yes that what happened, but since we are in uncharted waters the admins just linked to "don't break reddit". Basically, they are finding just vague policy rules to ban people.
