Why Does Opie Act Like Fake Radio Names Are Bad When He Used One for 35 Years?

Just because he was called that when he was little that didn't mean he had to ask to be called "Opie" when he was in his 30s. Gregg and Tony or Gregg and Anthony works just as well as Opie and Anthony. What is the big deal? He sells himself as the realest thing in radio and does bullshit like Spuds Buckley and calls himself Opie. How is that compatible?

Cunty and Anthony would have never made it by the FCC.

It's NOT a radio name. My family has been calling me Opie forever. Do you REALLY think I would choose to be called this, stupid?
But, yeah. I'm sure he picked his own fake radio name in jockey college and it broke his heart when somebody called him out on it for the first time.

There's a difference between using "Chuck Roast" and a nickname you were given in your childhood that you carried throughout your life. I won the first wrestling tournament I entered when I was 6 and since then I've been called Mauler for 30 years.

Great criticism if it was 1998.

I think Opie and Anthony is better branding than Gregg and Anthony.
