Well, he brought you 20 years of solid radio regardless. Opie has always said and ant have defended aswell that they got 2 different jobs at the show. Opie without ant sucks, ant without opie sucks.

Why judge 1 person on a show with thousands of different guests? Why not appreciate the entire show? Ive listened to 8-10 hours of O&A everyday for a few years and who the fuck cares if Opie isnt as funny as ant? You realize thats why he brought him to the show? Cause of their chemistry? He's said for years that all the other jocks back then had ego issues when ant came to their show and performed but opie saw through that and brought him on, even if he's funnier than himself.
Opie gave you 20 years of radio but all you see or judge on is that he doesnt tell funny dick jokes.

No he didn't bring anything. he lucked into Ant 20 years ago and then he lucked into Jim and his standup friends 10 years ago. He is not the captain of the ship, he is a mere barnacle. He was incidental, not primary, to 95 percent or more of the comedy. Ant and Jim shows were better and would be better now.

I think if Ant would've got his foot in the door into show business whether it'd been radio, TV, or anything in comedy he would've been successful, and to another degree Jim as well but maybe Jim's loyalty to the show might've cost him opportunities we don't know about though. Just being honest.
