In light of Fatprick and Joe's attacks on our subreddits, I've decided to set up a message board that's free from censorship from Reddit's faggot admins.

I'm still in the progress of setting everything up to make it as similar to the Reddit subs as possible, but in the meantime, feel free to post as you'd like.

It goes without saying - please don't upload copyrighted material here. I don't want to be spammed with a million DMCA notices from some faggots. However, I'm not going to ban you if you do. And this website won't get taken down like the Reddit subs do.

Currently waiting on an SSL certificate to be issued by Cloudflare, that could take up to 24 hours. The site is safe, however.

Any mods from the Reddit sub can feel free to PM me on Reddit with their username on this site, and I will make them mods here as well.

Webhosting is $75/year
Invision Power Board is $300 upfront and $60 renewal every 6 months. I already had a license from a forum I ran many years ago, which is the only reason I decided to do this.

I have no problem paying for it, might put up a couple small non-intrusive ads if I have to but it's really not a problem.

I don't plan on paying the renewal unless absolutely necessary. The renewal just gets you access to support and updates. Unless there's some critical security update (which is very rare with IPS), there's no reason to pay it. I don't give a shit about 10 new emojis added to the next update.

Nah, it's hosted in the US. I added a DMCA request page just in case, so all complaints are handled by me instead of the host. Like I said in the post, as long as any copyrighted material is uploaded off-site (imgur.com, etc), then it's not my problem. Might move it to some host in Luxembourg if it really turns out to be a problem, but I doubt that'll happen. I have daily backups of the board's database, so nothing will be lost in the unlikely event it's shut down.

reddit works on ego stroking upvote seeking and the ability to get huge upvote ratios on comments and submitted content. this is contingent on a large userbase. the likelihood of going viral is completely negated in voat and personal web forums - unless your content or thread/comment gets picked up by one of the social media monopoly sites.
