So her business model is to shit out consistently glowing reviews of shitty books, and her compensation is free shitty books? Poor business model. Is her last name Maresca?
"Child, I do not need to buy fake reviews, child. I have proof, child, that this review is real, but I will not show you, child, because you are beneath me, despite me posting on your subreddit, child."
Here is the thing, and I want to be honest. It is possible that he did not pay her for this, as some of these services are free. It is also possible that she legitimately enjoyed the book. I do find it suspicious, however, that there seemed to be little transparency if, indeed, he approached her about a review. Often, writers and publishers will seek out opportunities for reviews for their work, that’s not unusual. But the way this went down certainly is. She has a reputation for giving very good reviews. The fact that her review and his post pointing it out disappeared around the same time is also suspicious. The fact that he so shamelessly pimped her review is also something he should personally feel degraded to have to do. Someone please name one offer, one successful author, in the history of publishing that behaves this way. Just one. I’ll wait.
Thank you. You'll note I never said he paid her as I understood from her services page that she writes reviews for free. I said he 'hired' her. :) Yes, it's all very suspect!
Also: Good writers don’t have trouble finding legitimate publications to review their work. That’s probably the most damning thing about this. Shameful all around. Even if it’s all legitimate, it’s humiliating. I mean, for someone who is honest about trying to make it in the business, it would be fine. But remember, he pretends that he is wildly successful.
She's not even a critic. She doesn't have the qualifications or the background. She's a chick that reads books. That's it. That's not a professional critic. She's a shill that gives positive reviews for struggling authors in exchange for free copies of early access books to big her blogging brand. I've seen a handful of these on Twitter. Can't generate any real buzz, can't get a real critic to give it the time of day. Just pathetic.
This is also on the heels of an anonymous reader who posted an excellent review while A) not having a verified purchase B) calling out the one star reviews as if they had some personal interest in it and C) "wishing" there were book # 2 and book #3 from Patrick all so he could swoop in and announce that book number 3 (and 2, by reason) was, in fact, now available. Oh God the hairs on my arms are standing up.
I swear this shit started with Harry Potter. "No it's got some really grownup themes man. Just put your macho shit away and give it a chance."
It's just mental junk food. If you do it, I mean that's fine I guess. But really, it's exactly like Sam eating McNuggets and Lucky Charms and acting like that makes him interesting.
I don't know what it is now, but nobody wants to make anything of any fucking substance.
People wanna be "creative types" and make all this shit, but they don't wanna put in any of the work necessary to make it interesting.
"Talent" is a misleading word, people think you're born with or without the ability to make something. But making something cohesive, engaging, and something that people want to read, or watch or whatever the fuck.
That's something that takes work. It takes criticism, and assessing and using that criticism. It takes messing up and starting over and learning and growing and that's something that is not compatible with retard "Child," self-validation politics.
That's why I hate this miserable fuck. He's not good and he doesn't wanna try to be so he just acts like he is. That's endemic to this fucking stupid culture. And yes I know I am a faggot who typed a lot.
That's why I hate him. And he'd take any actual criticism with a "Child," and ramble on about how it's because of political opposition blah blah blah. Make himself a victim instead of actually striving to be better. It's endemic in this shitheads.

Earlier today Fatrick posted, "Hey gang, not sure about STARSHIP REPO? Check out this excellent review and see if it tickles your fancy"
He linked to this review that she deleted once I discovered it and posted about it.
She publishes book reviews as a professional service. Her review was not organic.
Fatrick obviously hired her to review his book by sending her his book by one of the methods she listed in her BookSirens page.
Absolutely scandalous.

Pathetic if true.

u/patricktomlinson, Comment?
1 Twatsmash 2019-05-19
You’re hilariously pathetic, Patso. Imagine being so desperate that you pay for 3rd grade book report reviews from this special needs-level ‘writer.’
1 UnemployedOpie 2019-05-19
That's PatBot.

Something like that.

AHHHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
1 Shacomybrand 2019-05-19
A man making 6 figures should surely be able to afford more than one shill review. What's wrong Patso? Bank account feeling a little light?
1 CommodorePawsey 2019-05-19
Right. Like he would be able to recognize the feeling of “light.”
1 SuperToes845 2019-05-19
He didn't even pay her. She writes reviews for free. Goes to show how cheap he is. He could have at least BOUGHT a more legitimate-sounding review.
1 UnwarrantedArrogance 2019-05-19
That would be immoral though.

Same level of disconnect from reality in both those guys for sure.
