As gay as this sounds, Trump is my last final hope. If he throws a few high-profile people in jail over the Russia bullshit and indirectly reforms the mainstream media after his terms, then it'll change the politics you just described forever. But it's a slim chance.
Who is he going to throw in jail? He's going to ride this out and then put as much distance between and anything Russia related. Why would he seek to the alter the media that he has played and manipulated so well thus far?
He's just surviving and playing along at this point. The "swamp" isn't getting drained.
It's a long shot but I presume he'd impose criminal penalties on James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, possibly Brennan, for their role in unauthorized surveillance activities. They obtained a FISA warrant on illegal pretenses to spy on a political enemy.
Nothing will probably happen, but some "experts in the know" have said Obama can still be impeached. That'd be pretty funny/awesome. If he was involved in this, which he obviously was, then it's akin to Watergate, and arguably worse. Five people involved in Watergate went to jail.
But the media isn't on our side, so once again, long shot. We'll see.
Anyone who thinks any politician actually cares for regular citizens and actually listen to their concerns is a complete fucking waterhead who should live life wearing a helmet. The way people treat Bernie, AOC, or Trump like fucking deities deserve to be completely taken advantage of and robbed blind.
