I've heard this clip so many times and I didn't notice it until recently, but at the start of the clip Louie says "Why am I hearing the ocean? Am I hearing the ocean?" because Opie has a caller on the line and he has his audio cranked up - apparently we needed to hear Dale the trucker in the middle of a show with the two funniest guests the show ever had.
Even after Patrice has started talking, Opie actually interrupts him and starts to say "Hey..." to the caller but then, in a rare moment of awareness, stops himself. I can't hear this clip anymore without being reminded of all the times funny comedians were in studio and Opie interrupted a good conversation to go "Hey Rick in Tucson wants to jump in, Rick what's going on?"
