When I wrestled in high school they were generally easy pickins. Their football teams were a joke too, usually had one freak and the rest of the team didn't what they were doing. That's Chicago though.
When I wrestled in HS they were generally viewed as easy targets. There were some that were great, very legit, but overall sucked. I remember one meet in particular, a bus full of north side Irish kids headed to the heart of the west side. Fucking swept em, we were nervous getting out of there afterwards, there was a lot of tension in the gym. Only a few of our parents even showed up and I remember thinking they were crazy. There's a fight going on now in Chicago about suburban teams not wanting to play on the south or west sides. Enough shit happened that people said enough.
