Patrice was the only one who told Ant the truth. When he died, Ant got lost.

As Beige points out, Ant is living in a bubble where he is protected from any outside constructive criticism. The whole reason we're on a different sub is because Ant started a war over the old one because it had the gall to notice he bombed at the roast. He can't handle even slightly uncomfortable thoughts about something lame.

Patrice was his anchor to reality, because he had to listen to him preach his beliefs for hours a month. That's more direct communication than most people have with their therapist. Patrice sat a few feet across from this suggestible, weak guinea (see paying allowance to 60 year old brother for some stupid throwaway line when you were 18), and beamed his beloved negro magic into Ant's heart chakra for 10 years. He kept Ant's dark soul alive.

I thought it sounded kinda corny at the time, but I have heard one or two people say Patrice's death really seemed to hurt Anthony. Now I can see it.

P.S. When Steve C. was getting the life bullied out of him, Patrice was the only one who cared and said to call him after the show.

Faggot, this ain't no After School Special.

Ron told him the truth

And Ant drove him away and called him “too sensitive”.

Turns out He really really loves twitter

he still found any angle of opportunity to half jokingly shit on the entire black population right in Patrice's face.

Patrice respected that

I enjoy when people shit on and make jokes about black people. Cause most people are terrified to. But Anthony became obsessed. He got lost.

the problem with ant is he rants on black people to try and make himself look good for the only angle he has, being white (presumably). If he was pointing out societal issues as a form for real correction or even to just be funny it would be one thing but hes just a racist piece of shit. Then on top of that he always considered himself real "talent" and not just some lucky dago who latched onto the right person at the right time. Fuck ant.

Interns wERE not allowed to make eye contact or speak to him.

I almost gotta respect that one. Not even trying to be diplomatic lol

What a weird thing to respect.

W-where's the Yuma 😥😭

Arizona

Ant must look back at 2007-2012 and cry to himself how far he has fallen in everyones eyes simply because he couldn’t sit down like a man with Opie and iron shit out. It’s so weird how neither of them had the balls to confront each other and just let hostilities simmer for a fucking decade. What a couple of dopes.

To be fair, the criticism from ost people from our circle wasnt that constructive. The ridicule is well deserved, dont get me wrong.. I unsubscribed from CM a long time ago.. I tried to send constructive feedback and was ignored and sent to obscurity. No jokes, no ill intent.. just, I'm a fan and this is what I see type of thing.

Whats that?

Admittedly I've formed my own bubble, but it's full of hate, anger, and venom. This weak, bitch-made world ain't for me

Not true.

Some other stuff I agree with.

Personally I do not believe Ant and Patrice were legitimate friends. They were "work friends" at best. Ant maybe played it up for radio(going with the bit)

Anthony the scccuuuummmbag didn't even go to his funeral. Let that sink in.....

Re-listen to the "Remembering Patrice" show right after the dirt nap. Not the one with Chris Rock, the first one. Just listen to Ant. It's odd.

Anthony didn't go to his mom's funeral, no?

I wasn't at either.

it is odd. I'm familiar with that episode, Opie almost cries and all ant can do is repeatedly say "yeah....". he has no other opinion or stories other than he saw him drink a Guinness one time. no doubt Joe text him during saying "one less of them now, huh? lol. my allowance is late btw"

Patrice may have called him out, but AntH never listened or took his advice. Patrice's death didn't affect him one way or another

If anything he was deep down relieved as he felt no one would challenge his racist views on the show anymore.

Anthony never cared for Patrice other than the "intelectual" workout at his "job". Mostly because Patrice wasn't "nice" and was a "nigger".

Norton was irrelevant and afraid of him. The one who got lost after his death was Burr. Literally a couple years after his death I was listening Burr's podcast and I swear I was listening Norton speaking.

I feel like you missed a few years in between these two events, fella.

.......... what way was that, Anthony?

I doubt it made much of a difference to be honest. The whole 'embittered racist meets a good one and has an epiphany' thing is a trope but rarely happens in reality. The fact is that the racial loathing is often just deeply ingrained in the person, in AntH's case clearly from a very young age as well. It doesn't matter if he finds evidence to the contrary or gets confronted, it's an immovable part of his personality and psyche. Might as well expect him to drop his pedophilia tendencies.
