I've played in several bands over the years. I've even played in a tribute band before (Not in the faggy "Play dress up and pretend we're the real guys" type tribute band like Mr. Cumia does, but just as in we only played that one particular band's songs and we would advertise our shows as such.)
And while I'm sure that Joe makes more money from his band than me and my friends did with ours it's still extremely rare for any non-professional musicians to regulary make really good money like that; and even more rare to make enough good money like that for the band to be your "job." I'm sure Joe has probabaly had a few good paydays like that over the years; like the Disney gigs and shit like that, but those are definitely few and far between, and they're the exception rather than the rule.
There is no way in Hell that Joe could survive without a job on just his band money if he wasn't being supported by his baby brother. And that's even with him taking the largest cut of it, and not evenly splitting it with the other guys; which you damn well know he doesn't do.
We joke around and shit about Joe, but it is honestly pathetic that a 60 year old is such an insecure loser that he feels the need to go on the internet and try to impress and one-up a bunch of total strangers by making up blatant, transparant lies about his life like that.
Alice In Chains. They've always been my favorite band. We would mix in some Mad Season and Jerry Cantrell solo songs in our sets too.
We picked them for the "Tribute" thing because with their style of music we would pretty much always have somewhere to play. We could do both hard rock/metal shows and acoustic shows too.
The other bands I was in we would cover a lot of rock and metal songs, and we had a few originals too.
