I still wouldn't laugh, and more be annoyed because you know in their last dying breath they are hoping to say something profound. And that's just not possible.
I genuinely wonder how comedy became a magnet for unfunny people. Was it the Bush years? I don’t like politicizing everything but this kind of shit is only possible with a “safe space” mentality
My only guess is that a bunch of very liberal people became attracted to comedy from 2000-2008 when a large portion was making fun of Bush and Republicans. Then they adopted safe space ideas when they became fashionable
The over saturation in the market is so incredible. Jon Stewart set a bad precedent though. I blame him.
I remember during those years every annoying typical liberal knew the catch phrase 'People don't get their news from ABC/Fox anymore they get it from Jon Stewart' -- they'd say it kind of smug too like they thought knowing that made them a mover and shaker thinking about it still makes me mad -- so all these untalented fucks listened to that and thought well I need to do what he does.
Next thing we know we've got 10 shows doing the woke infotainment bit.
They wanted to be like Jon Stewart but they had none of the comedic talent or intelligence and are incapable of bashing their own side unless it’s safe - like how it’s safe now to bash establishment democrats because of Bernie Sanders.

Nice cell phone. I'm sure working in a capitalist society didn't help provide the means to procure it.

Why do these types of leftists always seem to end up living in in the bowels of the most capitalist places on Earth if they hate it so much?
