I wish I could have met Nastassja back in the day and she could have seen how tall I am and scheduled a meet up that I had to cancel due to us being unable to fit our date in because of prior commitments. She's one of the most beautiful women who ever lived so that would have been nice.
Permanently scarred an extra whilst filming Aguirre, it's the scene where he's swinging his sword around like a fucking lunatic amongst some natives & smashes it off some guys head. Herzogs documentary "My Best Fiend" has some great stories & footage of him.
I need to go watch all those Herzog movies he was in. The only one I've seen so far is Aguirre which I liked. I've always associated him with his bit parts in For A Few Dollars More and Doctor Zhivago. The scenes with him and Van Cleef in For A Few Dollars More were fucking great.
It's been a while since I've watched most of them so I think rewatching a few over the weekend sounds like a plan, brotherman.
I highly recommend Woyczek, one of the best depictions of a man on the edge of a nervous breakdown I've seen. Kinski nails it & only 5 days after shooting on Herzogs version of Nosferatu had wrapped as well.
