Using a looper is cheating right?

I’m sure musicians with some talent can manage to play a show without one.

Oh so so so so so so just because I appreciate non-abattoir technology, that makes me a terrible musician?

How many loops do you need for ‘mooooooo’?

Not when you play just like Eric

Especially when you have hooves

Eh, there’s nothing wrong with it. I’d rather see someone loop stuff that they’re actually playing than use prerecorded background music. I’ve seen other solo acts use it before, it no big deal. Certainly nothing to brag about though.

It depends. If it's part of the sound of your band, no. If you use it to pretend you're a one man band playing other people's songs, you're a fucking moron and nobody likes you.

The band Battles utilized looping in a pretty cool way.

Depends if its digitech or not

When it’s done we’ll, it’s impressive. When it’s done by banging your guitar on every quarter note to mimic atrocious drumming, it’s embarrassing.

It sounds like youre not a musician

At this point being a solo performer using a looper is about as hack as you can get. Noodling over an eight bar loop of string noise and two chords is an artistic space that has been completely explored.

needs more cowbell

Its a tool, just like joe!

It doesnt need introducing to the audience any more than the PA system does.

"This is a mixing console...allen and heath... I can move these faders and increase the volume of the instruments"
