Does anybody even like Trevor Noah? The Daily Show just fell completely off the face of the planet it seems, after Jon Stewart left.

I liked his standup and was open to seeing how he'd do, but it's just a terrible show. Ronny Chieng is the only funny correspondent, Kosta is okay. The rest of literally diversity hires but inclusion for inclusion's sake is 'woke". There's some new correspondent whose name is obvious cultural appropriation of Kabuki theatre.. it's like Jabookie or Dabookie but of course he's transqueergayinterbisexual

That's probably the thing about it that was off-putting to me, this whole "condescending foreigner trying to talk to me about why America is bad" genre (John Oliver too, etc.) is grating

I don't mind John Oliver because it's humor-informative and I always learn something. In general, he doesn't really pour on AMERICANS STUPID, AMERICA BAD, he's a "speak truth to those in power" and though he lays into Trump, not just him: Pharma execs, judges, etc.

Noah/TDS is "speak truth to privilege" so literally everything that every white man does is evil, anything a non-white, non-male does should be extolled and lauded and talked up despite its relatively lack of impact. And he impersonates Americans, which can be funny to non-American crowds but every episode his studio audience is like "ehh.. that's pretty irritating".
