She also changed his name to the Golden State Killer (GSK) despite the fact that he was (and still is) known as EARONS (East Area Rapist / Original Night Stalker). As others have pointed out, changing the name to GSK was actually quite disrespectful to the many rape victims he had before he became a killer. The original name is a better reflection of the nature and progression of his crimes.

Patton's smug, congratulatory tweet when this guy was caught was also pretty sickening, as if she had something to do with his capture.

As a passive fan of true crime shit I like knowing arguments for why this dead bitch was a hack and should be disrespected.

The EARONS subreddit isn't too fond of her from what I've seen. If she was instrumental in any way with regards to him being captured, she would've been acknowledged there. I think Patton tweeted something along the lines of "you did it!" when EARONS was caught, but his arrest had zero to do with her book.
