There's a libel suit at the moment in which the defense is arguing that the plaintiff is such a piece of shit that he cannot be libelled.

One of the Dragonball Z actors is suing the studio for defamation, and they've argued that he's literally "libel-proof":

  1. Defendant is not liable to Plaintiff because Plaintiff waived or otherwise forfeited any contractual rights he claims to have had through Plaintiff’s own conduct.

  2. Defendant is not liable to Plaintiff because Plaintiff is libel-proof.

Really makes you think, eh Joe?*

* I'm using "Joe" as a figure of speech, not to refer to Joe Cumia; as he's banned from Reddit for life for obnoxious behaviour and thus can't read this post.

YouTuber/Lawyer Nick Rekieta, from Rekieta Law did a full breakdown of all the depositions/recordings. It was really interesting. The defendants really motherfucked that guy.

I haven't watched Rekieta's video, but I've been following the pleadings since it's been blowing up on lawyer twitter for months. I have no opinion on the underlying facts of who did what to whom but Vic Magnogna's defamation allegation is incredibly weak and got weaker when he testified and confirmed that a lot of the allegedly defamatory opinions about him were based in facts he did not dispute. There's a chance the judge dismisses the case under the Texas anti-slapp statute, and even if he doesnt, he will probably dismiss on the merits. It's a circus and Vic is getting poor representation (just my subjective opinion from the limited perspective of a lawyer reading the briefs).
