Chappelle is going to be the first black comedian that gets crucified on the alter of PC.
One of the biggest challenges that the Left has had to deal with, is that the general black population doesn't give a shit about PC malarky and, in fact, have been becoming adamantly opposed to it, slowly but surely. This is a big deal to the Left, because Black America is their greatest pet and now it's starting to become more independent, in terms of having nuanced views toward social-political issues, that as far as the left is concerned, you're only supposed to feel one way about.
If Chappelle's special is any indicator; they're starting to think more independently due to the fact that they, like the rest of us, are just supposed to accept anything the Left tells you, because they're the self-imposed "moral good" in all politics and social issues at large. This is why the pushback against Kanye was so huge. Chapelle is different, in that almost everyone on the Left inherently grew up with the guy on Chappelle Show and had already given him a highly lauded position in comedy. So how do you blast him now? How do you cancel him? Well since New-Age Outrage is mostly just White people yelling at other White people and, by their own standards, they would be "suppressing" a persecuted class of people by talking critically about him; they have to sic their Black counterparts on Chappelle, just to make their arguments stick. However: There's no way that they're going to isolate what Chappelle is saying to JUST him individually. Their plan is to eventually go after Cis Black Men as hard as they have with Cis White Men, but they need to pay a different kind of entry fee before they do that, and they need the right kind of candidate to give that to them. The only one stepping up aggressively is Dave these days, so it will invariably just be him that's gonna get to be the "canary in the coal mine", for how the woke Left goes after Black Men, and what the framework and qualifiers for that look like.
