You would think that if you were a guitarist given the opportunity to perform with your childhood heroes you'd respect them and be humbly thankful for the opportunity.

You'd think so, but not if you're Joe Cumia. Instead he decided to crank his amp up and boulder through the song, stumbling around on stage while obliviously ignoring the sound guy, lead singer, and the rest of the band's cues to turn his amp down, which only grew more aggressive as bovine Joe played on. It really is crazy to me how he could supposedly respect and adore a band that much while slapping them in the face and embarrassing them with his selfishness and narcissism. Frankly I'm thrilled that they told him to go fuck himself and get off their god damn stage.

I always thought BOC was a mediocre band with only a handful of notable songs, but I gotta say brotherman, I'm all in with the Blue Oyster Cult now. We're gonna go deep, this is Don't Fear the Reaper on 107.3 W-GAY-AF, the cock of Boston.

That's the genius of Gene: He could orchestrate a smoothly running show despite the boorish nature of a much lesser man in his band.
