LoS content

1  2016-06-01 by Keith_the_Cop

Good afternoon everyone. Just a clarification on the LoS content and last nights episode.

The episode is being moved and put back up. LoS has put the episode up on YouTube as well. Our attorney has stated that contractually as it's written LoS has the right to their content and will be putting it up on Gas digital.

Last nights episode will be up today on Compound Media for the subscribers to view and download. The rest of the content will transition to Gas digital.

We maintain a good relationship w LoS and want to make the transition of the content for them smooth and available for viewing as soon as possible.

Our attorney has stated that contractually as it's written

God, Keith. You make it sound like you're just finding this out today and you didn't know this a year ago when you signed the contract.

Here's a tip: hire help. Someone that knows business... has some project management experience... operations... anything. This is the kind of thing you should have got in front of a month ago and explained what was going to happen and what the transition was going to be like. Now you're playing defense and it looks totally bush league.

Everyone involved is so unbelievably unprofessional. And it's not just you - Luis tweeting out the negotiation tactics and status when Ant was away was so cringey. Stick to content. Hire professionals to take care of the rest.

I'll clarify. We have the right to have all of LoS content on our site. They also have the right to copies of all of the episodes as well. We knew this from the beginning of the contract. After speaking w the attorney yesterday and Luis we agreed that maintaining the relationship w LoS going forward they would post all the content on Gas digital.

You should be fired, you are incompetent and have no business running the network. You should be writing parking tickets in Mahwah NJ instead.

You can legally continue to host the LOS episodes but choose to let a competitor have exclusive rights to them at the detriment of your own customers?

That is stupid. I paid money since day 1 and now you let all that content disappear? Thanks again for everything.

IN CASE THERE IS ANY CONFUSION:
LOS will no longer be on CompoundMedia.

Makes sense, it's a good show.

My attorney has stated that I paid to watch those episodes. Punitive damages! Sue everybody!

Sue Lightning!

Have to say the fact that they took all the shows and making us wait for lastnights show has turned me against the lot of them...

If you having to wait a few hours to watch the latest episode turned you against us I guess you didn't like us that much to begin with eh?

It's not just the latest episode. But all the previous episodes as well. We paid for access to those.

You paid for access to Ant's network, it's his (or Keith's) fault that they agreed on a deal that doesn't retain the rights to the shows that aired on the network.

No not at all. Ive been a fan of skanks for years but this has been handled badly and just leaves a sour taste in the mouth after all these years of loyalty

You understand that LFTC is not obligated to provide you with access to any particular number of archived Episodes by subscribing to the Service. Different membership levels (i.e., promotional, monthly, yearly, etc.) may or may not have access to a different number of archived Episodes and there may be limitations on the number of times an Episode may be downloaded per each account. For example, a trial or monthly subscriber may only have access to a limited number of archived Episodes. Upon the cancellation of your subscription, all access to archived Episodes will be terminated.

-Just saw this in the ToS. I don't like it.

I'm a bot, bleep, bloop. Someone has linked to this thread from another place on reddit:

Just to clarify, their previously recorded shows will be on the Gas network too?

Yes sir. All episodes will go to Gas. I would ask Luis how they plan to distribute it.

Should we not be asking the people we paid for that content?

Seems like a nice indication of what a sniveling lil' bastard Luis J Gomez is.

You tell em Keith

Thanks Keith. You're the man!
