They definitely hate Hollywood and take the piss out of the place a lot, but they do it in their own silly, irreverent way. But they have to couch their blows in that way, just to keep their audience plugged in. A lot of their audience is very much “all art must be political”, and a lot of their audience isn’t. And because no one trusts reviewers anymore on either side; RLM is playing a huge pick-up game - whether they know it or not - of people who are desperately looking for real, un-shilled opinions, mixed with entertainment. They’re about to hit one million subs, which would make them THE biggest reviewers on the internet, potentially the world. This is the biggest height and the absolute last chance at something like this, so I think they’re not trying to rock the boat TOO much (they got flack from the MSM about their Plinkett TLJ review, seems like it might’ve scared them a bit?), otherwise it’s back to Milwaukee obscurity.
Plus: They don’t talk about their politics AT ALL, which allows their fans to project their own desires for what they hope their views are. I think the boys know that, and I don’t know if they know what to do about it.
