Compound Media’s site does not seem to understand how marketing works

Someone here asked how much per month a sub was at CM so I went over and realized that on the page that they give the prices, they try and list benefits to subscribing.

Now, most sites I visit that are selling something try to usually list extra benefits to subscribers underneath their prices. Maybe you also get an extra subscription to a magazine? Or a discount to a store?

So let’s take a look at CM’s benefits - https://www.compoundmedia.com/subscribe

1) “Become a subscriber to Compound Media”

The first is my favorite. By subscribing, you become a......SUBSCRIBER!

2) “Be notifed of periodic updates on our site.”

So, by subscribing, I am told what is going on......cool....I thought everyone already did that but ok.

3) “View and listen to exclusive live and archived content only available to Compound Media subscribers.”

I can listen and watch what I am paying for? Awesome

4) “Interact and experience the show in a whole new way.”

Who the hell says this yet doesn’t explain that new way? Is the audio or video some magic feed? If not, what is the new way?

Must have been written after the previous abortion of a website was updated to Zype, 3 years ago. The more I hear about Keith actively sabotaging Brother Tony's business the more I believe it.

Both versions of the website are designed to passively defraud their subscribers. This can’t be said enough—reformed Compound subscribers, keep checking your credit card statements, even a year+ after cancelling. My guess is that enough people have been defrauded by them that it’s class-actionable.

Is this for real? Luckily my old card was linked to that scam site so I never was charged but I would like a legal opinion if this is the case.

I can’t say for sure how deliberate it has been, or speak to the legality, as I’m not a lawyer, but there have been many common complaints about this here and on the various iterations of the CP sub, and some pretty interesting posts about it over the past few years, even before the tide turned against Ant. I’ll try to dig some up.

I noticed a complaint on the BBB website about this and the idea of a class action suit is just funny to me. Thought we had a lawyer on this board but I can't remember the name.

So.. so.. so.. so.. buying a subscription makes me a subscriber???
