Paul ws anderson is due for another "I'm surprised that wasnt shit" movie, there's hope. Unfortunately, I completely missed the monster hunter series and couldn't care less.
Angry Birds did the video game movie perfectly. The spirits within was a crazy Asian banzai nose drive into the future of digital actors. Other then those 2 and resident evil extinction for being a stoner action horror, video games can't quite get adapted. I don't know why. Comics do fine. Why not video games?
Because Hollywood studios are shit. They don't go "hey someone sent us an amazing script that happens to be based on a video game." They go "look how cheap we can get this property with pretty good name recognition, let's get that PWSA guy to write and direct it, he never goes over budget and always delivers on time."
