I was friends with Amy BEFORE she was famous.

You know the Worm is thinking this will help boost him in some way. Eat shit, Jim. You stink.

really sad how he kisses her ass. Jim started his comedy career when she was in elementary school.

How the fuck did she get another Netflix special?

She recited someone else's act, publicly shit on Netflix for not paying her what they paid actual comics like Dave Chapelle, guilted them into paying her millions more for zero extra work; and yet she's back.

How?

She likely had a multi special/year contract. If you didn’t happen to notice Netflix throws shit (literally) at the wall to see if it sticks. It’s nice to see her rip off Amy Wong though, she has no qualms with stealing from anyone.

Maybe.

I was pretty sure they did a wave of one-offs, with the exception of Chapelle's two.

I think Chris Rock signed for two as well. Did he ever put anything out?

They want as much content as possible and she's still somewhat of a name. Not at a level where people will rush home to see her show the day it is released, but later on when they're bored, have watched everything, and say "Oh, I haven't seen this before."

They paid her $11 million initially, before she threw a hissy fit and demanded more.

You know how many comics you could get to butcher Dave Attell's act for $11 million? Big Jay, for starters.

Big Jay would do it for $1100 and tickets to that nu metal cruise.

Depending on how this one does, might be one of her last specials ( we can hope). She’ll pop out a kid and likely move to acting full time ( there’s more money and less time on the road). Her star is waning and the only way to sustain it would be to move to acting, putting out a special every few years. The fact that most comics didn’t call her out for stealing jokes sets a terrible precedent for her career to continue in every medium.

You always hear joke theft is their job's biggest offense, but in the meantime lots seem to do it without consequence. That clip of hers doing Patrice's ghost joke was supposed to be "parallel thinking". If Burr loved Patrice, why let that go?

She’s the golden calf, it seems for some strange reason, in the eyes of her colleagues she can do no wrong. Robin Williams got away with it. Dane Cook is trying to mount a come back. Fuck even Mancia is still touring. I think most comics pretend to be tough but they really are just a bunch of spineless jellyfish.

From what I've seen so far I agree with you 100%. And I dont know if it's related, but I didn't like any of those you mention even before I'd heard of joke theft - also that Miller who had ignored Anf at a comedy place.

Robin Williams used to pay people off if he used their jokes; in one of his interviews (Maron, maybe?) he mentions not being able to sit in comedy clubs any more as it was costing him too much money.

(((no idea)))

Jim is going to die alone

Jim still doesn't get enough hate.

Ewwww.
