Yeah it was definitely much better than any spinoff show since then but still way short of its peak. If Ant and Opie never got fired they probably would've fizzled out and separated within a few years and had equally shitty spinoff shows.

I said this one year ago and got destroyed. Now, it’s obvious. Opie was annoying, interrupted too often, and usually wasn’t very funny. But when all three of them were together, he - dare I say it - steered the ship and found what Anthony and Jim would hit out of the park, even if it was something that Opie himself found disgusting or unfunny.
