Can't do that in the EU. I almost ran into serious trouble on New Year's Day. Got an ancestor's BDM mountain jacket out of storage (very warm), then forgot I was wearing it when I walked to town, with the idea of taking a train over the border. Was getting radiant smiles from elderly people, and only a few frowns before I realized the patches were still on the jacket. Emotions are still strong, even in a neutral, quiet place like this.
