Really good show. They took some license with some parts of the story (namely the father in the Philippines) but it was really well done. And there’s no doubt Jimmy got boned up by it.
Yeah, small stuff—the phone call from the Dad while Cunanan was holed up on the house boat was fabricated, and I think according to some relatives so was the stuff about the father abusing/raping him as a child, which the tv series uses to sort of explain his whole character.
Still, an excellent show. Some people didn’t like the backwards timeline but I enjoyed it. Old Angela from Who’s the Boss killed it as that one fag’s widow.
Oh shit, didn't realize that's who was married to the fag from MASH. Aside from Cuba Gooding Jr, they they make some really interesting casting choices.
And yeah, the brief molestation allusion did seem really shoehorned in there. You'd think his dad's personality and over-the-top golden boy treatment alone would've been compelling enough reason for viewers to buy him as an amoral gay narcissist. But I'm just gabbin at the jobsite with my cuppa coffee over here, what do I know.
