Who the fuck actually likes U2?
121 2019-02-20 by CumiaVsBurr
They might be the shittiest alt. Rock band out there. Only person I know that genuinely likes besides Bro Joe (and hes not a person) is my dad and hes a faggot.

Pretty sure a lot of people have enjoyed their tunes over the last 30+ years.
1 RoccoTheLoveMonkey2 2019-02-20
You fucking suck

Fair enough

“people”? you mean gay idiots?
1 TehSamurai01 2019-02-20
Joshua Tree is a good album, but U2 is overrated. They are regarded as one of the greatest bands of all time, but they aren't even close.
They also are partially why Brother Joe keeps getting paying gigs, so that's another strike against.
1 i69withmarion 2019-02-20
Agreed, not my style but I'l give them that 1 album.
1 MrAndySocial 2019-02-20
Opie.
1 gayjohn75 2019-02-20
Bland musical act which ironically has no edge
1 CoffeeCard847 2019-02-20
Best thing ever is when Edge and Jack White play their childish, supposedly "epic" riffs in front of Jimmy Page, and then he throws down "whole lotta love" at 70 years old and makes them question their lives. Edge absolutely stinks
1 WaterFromTheWell 2019-02-20
I was a fan during the Achtung Baby/Zooropa/POP days when they were a bit more experimental.
1 jokespot 2019-02-20
I go deep with the U2 maan
1 WaterFromTheWell 2019-02-20
Their Batman Forever tune went pretty hard too.
I liked them growing up quite a fair bit, but man did they hit an expiration date for me when How to Dismantle a Bomb came out. When Bono was counting in Spanish on that one song was the precise moment I stopped listening to anything new they've done.
1 Virginia_Beach 2019-02-20
The experimental phase is when the band officially died. Joshua Tree put the band on the map on a global scale and they ruined it by catering to a younger, fruitier audience with gay dance music.
1 WaterFromTheWell 2019-02-20
POP was definitely that as a joke, but it just happened to be one that didn't look good on them. I still like it for faggy nostalgic reasons, same with Zooropa. I posted the "Numb" music video here the other day because I think it sums up Brother Joe the most out of any U2 song, and it even had main vocals by The Edge. That's the kinda experimentation that I was digging; kinda drab and low energy. I'll take that shit over them thinking they were the Andy Warhol of rock.
1 ScarletNumbered 2019-02-20
But, but, but he went one, two, three, fourteen
Did he?
1 crudedrawer 2019-02-20
That song is awesome. I wish they did more like that.
1 throwawaymanthrows 2019-02-20
I've always found them boring. They're the Matchbox 20 of their day.
1 XxMichaelHuntxX 2019-02-20
Call me a faggot, but I’d rather listen to Matchbox 20 than U2.
1 KYGGyokusai 2019-02-20
I'd rather listen to an orphaned child cry at the sight of their dead parents than listen to U2
1 BoatHack2 2019-02-20
We've all seen Batman Returns.
1 BeanoJizkunntay 2019-02-20
i dig some of their early stuff. sunday bloody sunday is kinda cool. they've sucked hard for like 30 years, though
1 iWhoreSchortSchorts 2019-02-20
Yeah, but that's a Sabbath rip off.
1 BlueBash 2019-02-20
Norton made cringe when he said that shit.
1 NicoretteVos 2019-02-20
Whenever I hear that, I always think it’s The Cure.
1 Air_Rangoon 2019-02-20
It's more like Echo & The Bunnymen, but yeah. U2 were the one that-kind-of-music band that really wanted to be famous. First four records were great, then they hit the formula and everything since then is a tampon commercial.
1 juschippinyababe 2019-02-20
Same faggots that are in REM

Numb is alright.
1 Fuhrer_Mel_Gibson 2019-02-20
U2 fucking sucks. Too bad Bono wasn’t in a IRA bombing.
1 Ants_Oily_Hair 2019-02-20
U2 sucks fat black cock

1 wife_swamp 2019-02-20
no, you're not making anything.
1 cabaretcabaret 2019-02-20
The Edge should be called The Rim.
1 blue_magoo_62 2019-02-20
Such a pretentious nickname.
1 DrFroufrou 2019-02-20
Shit's so embarrassing when you're over 25. I mean The Edge, Bono Vox? Come on
1 ExiledRadioHost 2019-02-20
bono is a faggot
1 ThatsSoOverrated 2019-02-20
You don't have to try this hard, people.
1 floppy666 2019-02-20
I’m young enough to only remember them for the time that Apple automatically installed their album into everyone’s music library and people acted as if they were injecting cancer into their bodies.
1 YeaThatsWhatItsFor 2019-02-20
They were right. I erase that goddamn album I don’t know how many fucking times but a week later I put my iTunes on shuffle and sure as shit that fucking album is back on my phone. I know there’s gotta be a way to remove it permanently but for the life of me I can’t figure it out.
1 bornrevolution 2019-02-20
There was actually a specific Apple site just to do that because it was so intrusive: https://itunes.com/soi-remove
1 YeaThatsWhatItsFor 2019-02-20
Thank you!
1 RapistWithHIV 2019-02-20
To be fair, using iTunes is as much for faggots as listening to U2 is. They were a perfect match.

My 56 year old uncle who drives a Volvo, tinkers in his garage and makes a mean Cesar.

** caesar , I'm an idiot
1 Virginia_Beach 2019-02-20
When I was a kid growing up in the 80's, they were fucking great. Once the 90's hit, they strayed from their rock roots and started doing some experimental shit and it went downhill from there. I don't even know what they are nowadays, other than awful.
1 Anarox 2019-02-20
Sunday bloody Sunday is the only good song
1 BrainPainter 2019-02-20
Don't you know? They ripped that off from Sabbath. Jimmy said so, and he obviously knows everything about music right gang?
1 Anarox 2019-02-20
Did Sabbath do a song about an Irish day of murder
1 PrettyHaightMachine 2019-02-20
War and The Joshua Tree were awesome
1 AnarchoCicero 2019-02-20
Soccer moms
1 UnwarrantedArrogance 2019-02-20
They had that one good song. That first ever single they released. It’s music for people who like activism more than music.
1 EastSideDan 2019-02-20
Electric Co?
1 egates09 2019-02-20
its for boomer faggots who sip bud light on the weekend in their garage alone
1 deumae 2019-02-20
The only sung music I really like is Marvin Gaye.
1 SueFuckedAnt 2019-02-20
Joe doesn't even like U2.
1 BabyLicer 2019-02-20
Handful of songs are melodically okay but as a whole they are very bland.
They have a washed out sound that can be played in supermarkets and department stores for ambient noise.
1 MCLyleStyle 2019-02-20
I liked them in middle school but after “achtung baby” came out I never listened to them again.
1 telemecanique 2019-02-20
old women
1 Ghastlycretin85 2019-02-20
80s U2 had some good stuff but even that music is hindered by the fact that I want to gouge Boners eyes out.
1 CommodorePawsey 2019-02-20
It’s easy to figure out. They were good to great for about the average lifespan of a band. Then they made a bunch of crap albums after that. There is that theory that most creative people buy into, that there is one creation that you are working towards, it might take your entire career, or you might hit it right away, and Joshua Tree was that album. It was U2’s purpose. They fulfilled it, and they can never match that creative intensity of excellence again. I am a fan, so that’s not a criticism, they’ve had a few good songs since then but they will never match what they did in 1987. It’s just that they’ve been around for 40 years.
1 RapistWithHIV 2019-02-20
Shut up.
1 CommodorePawsey 2019-02-20
So so so so so you’re saying that I shouldn’t use words, words that form sentences? You wanna get coffee and talk about it?
1 Nah_Ming 2019-02-20
I never heard this but now that I have, I see it everywhere. DJ Shadow's first LP, Endtroducing..., was a god damn masterpiece, and everything he has done since is good but is eclipsed by this. Boards of Canada made Music Has the Right to Children, Lupe made Food and Liquor, etc. Most big music artists have made one solid gem for humanity, and the rest is merely good to mediocre to crap. Interesting.
1 Not_Anthwan 2019-02-20
To be honest I only ever heard that one song and it was quite bad. I don't understand what kind of music they're making and how it can be enjoyable to anyone.

Going deep with them is probably not something to admit out loud. I think you have to give credit where it's due for the impact and worth of their top hits, though. While it's understandable to have your perception of them tainted by the BroJoe connection, they're still one of the most prominent rock bands in history. It's absolutely inarguable. Someday their story is going to get the Bo Rhap treatment at the movies, thus renewing their catalog for a whole new generation.
1 Sicboy69 2019-02-20
I personally prefer 2U.
1 ManiacalChrisBenoit 2019-02-20
The Sweetest Thing and Beautiful Day are the gayest songs ever.
1 dalgriff 2019-02-20
No one. U2 paid apple to put their music on every cell phone.
They also paid Marky Mark for the fellas to "love" them on entourage and go to a U2 concert. U2 is pure faggotry.
1 bornrevolution 2019-02-20
Did they pay Apple? They had the super old tv ads from like 2004 with U2 too, I thought they just always have had advertisement deals together for some reason.
1 crudedrawer 2019-02-20
I like their 20th century stuff. Haven't liked anything they've done since Pop and even that was pushing it.
