His early "talking" records, the ones with a skeleton in shorts on the covers, were very good alternative (before that meant twee and cunty) standup albums with some unfortunate tough-guy emo poetry on them, like if Bill Hicks were a storyteller and funny and not shroom-fried.
Then ROLLINS became really insistent that he wasn't a standup, got a lot worse at "talking" and started doing the same self-congratulation and Republicans-amirite? clapper shtick that every "smart" standup after Hicks has done.
It’s been awhile since I heard any of it, but some of it is inadvertently hilarious.
At the end of one he talks about him and his best friend getting robbed outside their apartment, his friend is murdered there and he somehow escapes and when the police get there they say something to the effect of “You guys share an apartment, what are you faaaaaags?”
