Jk Simmons and Jason Bateman was good in it. but I felt like it was far too quirky and biased for it’s own good.
It was like looking into the psychology of as Patrice would put it “the average bitch who works at mcdonald’s”.
The father figure is understanding and strangely progressive. The man who ‘got her pregnant’ is emasculated and not represented to be what women see as a real man.
The women fo the most part are angels and true idealists other than the girls who are the rivals.
And Jason Bateman’s character was there to remind us that men only care about superficial things while women have a deepness to them because they thunk a child out of their snatch.
Then again I haven’t seen it since it came out. But that’s what I remember it made me feel like.
I'm sorry, the only time I saw it was still in school so I lack the deep understanding of subplots and motivations. But I really liked it at the time and it did change my life.
Nah, I think she's dunzo. Her raison d'être was playing the children's roles that real children couldn't be put through (Hard Candy, An American Crime). Now that she's starting to age like Andy Milonakis the roles are going to start to dry up, at least until Linda Hunt pops her clogs.

Thats the beauty of films for me. People draw different shit from them based on their own values regardless.
