I think the reason it was so funny when Jim and Ant went off on a bit was because it was just audio. You could imagine the jokes in your own head. Theatre of the mind. Watching Anthony and Dave visually pound a subject into the ground is just not good and it goes on for forever. It's like two besties that are high at a party that keep laughing at their own inside joke. They don't let you in because its only hysterical to them.
True. Since Ant started TACS, he has a tendency to do a bit to death and do it way past the point of funny. Some of the riffs he'd do with Artie would quickly go past funny and into downright annoying and then 'move the fuck on already'. There was even that bit where Ant loved the old-timey Anacin commercial, did it to death and then brought it up for the rest of that week for more nobody guests to chuckle at. That's when he doesn't bring up TV shows that no-one was alive for, talks about video games and social media, and repeats all the stories we've heard before.
