Green Day is a pop band, have always been a pop band. They write good songs. But they’re not terribly interesting. They have never been interesting. That’s basically it. A bunch of homos (not fags, but homos), writing rock opera ballads that, while technically good, don’t do shit for culture and don’t move the needle at all.

That isn’t to say that there has never been some DOUCHEY songs to have come from that band. There absolutely has been. But their biggest problem has always been the fact that they’re not compelling in the slightest.
