Ricky was the star of the Office and also has a more everyman extrovert personality than Steve, who is a contrarian nerd. I say that as someone who really likes Steve and thinks Ricky has become an obnoxious prick.
Yeah you really see it in Ricky's solo projects. Ricky was fantastic on The Office and Extras but outside of his relationship with the 'Goggle Eyed Freak' most of what he's done has been average at best.
I don't even think 'Hello, Ladies' was that terrible. Shame it didn't get a second season.
