Recently I went back to it thinking I was too hard on it at the time cause of all the other shit, but it really is inexcusably pretentious in its execution.
I only watched an episode after Ronny B and his fat daughter raved about it on an early episode of Bennington. I also stopped listening to Bennington around the same time.
buscemi stopped taking his pills, went missing for a few episodes. In the final episode, just after ck found what might have been a healthy relationship with a new woman, buscemi shows up, manic and mumbling. He has a knife and stabs Louis CK. Then the show goes black. FIN.
Absolute bullshit that that self important assholoe Louis was going to change the world.
He thought it was going to be such a smashing success he did no advance publicity for it and when it bombed hard he had to run around with sob stories about it financially ruining him.
Before woke videogame NPC speeches there was a movie subgenre where nothing happens but libs explain the world (and how they're better than you) tediously: My Dinner with Andre, Mindwalk, Waking Life, etc. Louis thought we needed more of that. From him. Because his rant about phones went viral, like Burr's Yoko bit.
I'm glad Louis is back. I forgot what an asshole he is.
It was bizarrely good, you should give it another try i think. Each episode is different and while i agree that some of it was meh. It had some dark intense moments, you know just like any show. In my opinion though, i think those moments in total cancelled the meh parts.
