When did the average comedian turn into a 27 yo, happy-go-lucky retard with zero life experience?

I miss when comedians were mean, harsh, actually edgy and even had a smidgen of contempt for modern society. Now the average set is like:
So I hate rain, but my girlfriend loves rain... Last week it was raining and I didn't wanna leave the house, but my girlfriend was all like "babe we gotta go it's my parents anniversary!" and of course I did because women know best grins and shrugs to wild applause.

Because they don't have kids, families, or a real job. The difference is that now that's a lot more of the population. The internet made everyone think they're funny, artistic, or edgy. Most people aren't any of those things and should exist quietly.

We live in a society where a producer of a major late night TV show cried because norm macdonald was going to be on after he defended louie ck and roseanne and you wonder why the culture is an anodyne graveyard of humanity?

Comedy died for me the day Struggle Session Featuring Samantha Bee came on air.

Progs are much worse than commies.
Communists are weird unemployed intellectuals who are seldom allowed to do horrible things.
Progs are the manager.

She’s supposed to be funny?
1 literalotherkin 2019-01-02
No I don't even think she is supposed to be funny. I think she's supposed to be ideologically on point with a laugh track.

There's so many outlets producing "Specials" that anyone can have one
Back in the day if you were randomly browsing Comedy Central or HBO and saw some person you've never seen before doing standup, it's probably someone who's been doing comedy for 10~20 years, been middling or headlining for 5~10 years, and this is their fucking opus magnum that will either make or break their career
Today you can probably start going to open mics every night in LA for an year, make some connections, and get a "special" or a 15 minute spot on an episode of netflix standup within 5 years

Plenty of NY podcast comedians still can't get specials.

If Jang Nordle can get one it can't be too hard

Don't forget that back in those days, turning on a random Comedy Central special meant you would probably get a good amount of laughs, having never heard of the person. You turn on a Netflix special and it's so god damn awful

This is how people behave when the approval they care about comes from people they will never meet. There is no loyalty, there is no empathy, they don’t understand how sometimes you can disagree with good people over complicated issues. These are empty, Godless, soulless people looking for something to fill their existence. They hate themelves so much, they want approval approval approval from other faceless nothings. They are shit. I could’ve just said that. They are shit.

They're just selling what the people are buying. Our young people are stupid, infantile, and ignorant. Their entertainment will consist of that. It must cater to them.

Are you implying that millenials are destroying the stand-up comedy industry?
