For those who haven't seen this episode: he's making fun of this type of comedian. He plays a guys who considers himself a cerebral political comedian who's too smart for the crowd. He's disgusted by a fart joke head liner comedian, whom the audience love. Later he has an epiphany in their hotel room, he breaks down and confesses he loves fart jokes too. Then he accidentally kills the fart joke guy while he's shitting.
