It was an amateur Irish podcast (U2 is from Ireland and is big there). My guess is that they found out that 2U was a cover band of U2 and didn't see any reason to vet Joe. Kinda funny though because it was literally a day or 2 after Beige's documentary came out. Joe was dumb enough to tweet it out, which perplexed the interviewer and made him ask Joe for comment.
Because he's not a good musician so has to attach himself to a band that covers music that's easy to pay. Because getting a real job is out of the question....
Bono can be preachy and douchey at times but has used his own money and given his own time in dangerous places, where he travels without security, to directly impact the lives of some very desperate people. I disagree with him on a lot of issues and wish he'd stop pledging other people's money but I can at least respect a guy who personally - on his own dime and without guards - delivers medicine and supplies to areas ravaged by poverty and war. Joe gets an allowance. Bono 1, Joe 0.

I went to the U2 360 tour and it was the most self indulgent shit I’ve ever seen. At one point he walked to the edge of the stage and did a Jesus on the cross pose as the stage went full circle. He worships himself.
