I thought that was more a financial move - they've had a stack of movie bombs, their Netflix show got cancelled, and they've got nothing really going on at the moment.
Thats definitely a factor, and I'm sure that sort of luck would test any business relationship too. Easy to imagine they dont interact quite the same way they did before making, lets say, Speed Racer together. It won't surprise me if we start seeing solo efforts in the future, and I'm not talking movies either. Probably one of them writing comic books or something.
