Bad to have a bad uncle, bad uncle... Total Polanski, mate!
Chris Morris was the first performer/writer to get me into British comedy. He did rarely matched edgy stuff 10+ years ago. Iannucci is great too. Just ordered the box set of "The Thick of It".
I love the language the most. It's so creative and surreal but also lucid and expressive somehow. Also just the genuine disdain for celebrities and politicians. All those awful things Morris gets them to endorse like that call about the elephant with the Baywatch girl. He also didn't seem biased when it came to that thing. Heaps of stupid lefty shit is lampooned as well as reactionary stuff. Legend.
It's up there as one of my favourite shows. It's top 5 definitely. The 'You Raped me' sketch is a particular favourite as well as when Berry's starts to help a girl then realizes they're attached and does something horrible to them and runs away.
That's why I ordered the box set. It reminded me of that show. The same cynical take on human nature. The movie had me laughing out loud but also slightly depressed because it's really dark. It's special. Liked it a lot.
Two of my favorite Iannucci-y insults: "You burning asshole." "He is mostly made of hair!"

Great show and how I discovered Matt Berry. Hey I've never heard anyone give any love to Nathan Barley here. Anyone a fan?

Fuck yeah! Yeah Jam, Brass Eye, Day Today, Iannucci's stuff -- which includes Partridge -- all gold.

Brass Eye had some real over-the-top shit that was really, genuinely funny, and shocking in a good way.
It was so funny that if you made a show like that these days, you'd be thrown in jail.

The actors were all amazing. Always enjoy Palin.

Great soundtrack, but I wish they'd kept the original title - "Cunt".
