Of all the low points in Jimmy's career -- which are legion obviously -- his response to Norm's Saget roast is the worst. We can't all make every joke about molestation and tranny fucking you dumb hack.
I’ve been watching lots of old Norm clips with Conan, and while I get that Conan’s playing the straight man, by god does he come across as milquetoast.
All of Conan's manufactured "Ain't I so quirky and wacky?" shtick aged terribly. He's a lame, bland Carson ripoff like all the others and he back stabbed Norm. Throwing a bunch of nonsense and "so random" gags at the wall isn't comedic genius.
Watching Conan and Dave with the same guest shows the massive difference in level of skill between them.
I'm not as high on Conan as I used to be, and interviews are obviously not his strength, BUT his segments where he goes out to different locations and just riffs on stuff are as funny as anything else on TV.
