I mean he made it so he wasnt forensically linked to the murder and if his wife's torso and unborn child didn't wash up onto the Briney shores of Modesto his planning would have work.
Really really stupid guy though, just undeniable amounts of circumstantial evidence so he could attempt to date a random massage therapist and think she'd never find out about a missing pregnant wife.
